Lead Packaging and Quality Assurance Engineer (Information Technology)
This is an onsite position with work to be performed at VA facilities located in Albany, New York.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and delivery of application packages for VAs Windows client operating systems, ensuring the team meets a target of approximately 520 packages per year (averaging 10 per week).
Manage the teams response to approximately 48 emergency packages per year, ensuring completion within a one-business-day timeline.
Establish and enforce packaging standards using Admin Studio and VA DDE templates, in alignment with VA enterprise and security policies.
Supervise and mentor packaging and QA engineers, assigning tasks, reviewing work, and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Oversee the full application lifecycle using the VAs instance of Microsoft Power Apps, SharePoint, and ServiceNow, from intake and analysis to packaging, testing, validation, and deployment support.
Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure packaged applications meet functionality, compatibility, performance, and security requirements.
Develop and deliver formal Recommended Enhancements reports for packaging standards, processes, and the integration of Power Apps, SharePoint, and ServiceNow.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including packaging procedures, test results, and deployment readiness reports.
Collaborate with project managers, system administrators, and deployment teams to prioritize workload and ensure on-time delivery.
Identify risks, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions for packaging and QA processes.
