Electronic Technician Junior (Finance)
The purpose of this project is to operate and maintain Non-Destructive Test Equipment (NDTE) to test of armor protective plates worn by and used by soldiers. The NDTE system consists of an Armor Inspection System (AIS) that employs an X-ray to scan for flaws in plates.
Essential Job Functions: (not limited to duties as described - performs related duties as requested)
Candidates shall perform specific NDTE program related tasks and follow directions from the NDTE Team Lead and Technician Electronic Intermediate Field Engineer in non-complex engineering tasks of an analyst support or test nature. Technician Electronic Junior will assemble, troubleshooting, and operate the system utilizing mechanical drawings and manuals.
Candidate is responsible for specifying and procuring basic components and supplies and support the set up and monitoring of the systems tests and documenting results.
Candidate shall conduct troubleshooting procedures on the circuit-level control wiring and physical inspections and scanning processes to include the proper use and application of the RUPS-Hybrid and the EMD repair kit.
Level of Supervision: Works supervised in a reliable manner to complete all tasks within schedule and quality standards.
Required Education & Experience:
HS Graduate or GED
Applicant shall demonstrate 3 years' experience in the last 5 years reading and utilizing mechanical drawings and manuals, 3 years' experience in the last 5 years performing general electrical control and electronic troubleshooting, and 3 years' experience in the last 5 years with circuit-level troubleshooting and system-level control wiring troubleshooting.
License & Certifications:
Forklift license a plus.
Knowledge & Skills:
Prior experience with NDTE program a plus.
Physical Demands/Working Environment:
This is a physically demanding job. Constant lifting and moving body armor plates. Frequently moving 25 or more pounds.
Travel:
Expect to travel 95% of the time. Lengthy periods of deployment. Occasional OCONUS deployments.
Travel to DOD facilities to inspect body armor plates for integrity.
Security Clearance:
