Supermarket Refrigeration & HVAC Service Technician (Legal)
We are looking for an experienced HVAC/R Service Technician that has experience in the Supermarket and Commercial industry to join our Tallahassee team. Our office is located in Tallahassee but we are needingService Techs who live in Georgia or along the FL/GA line to help service the Moultrie, Albany, Thomasville & Valdosta Georgia areas.You will maintain Commercial heating/air conditioning & Rack systems, identify repair and/or replacement needs in regards to refrigeration units, provide necessary information on the proper uses of the equipment, and assist other skilled trades as required to ensure customer needs are met efficiently and accurately.Essential Duties: Install heating/air conditioning/refrigeration equipment and systems for the purposes of providing comfort inside facilitiesService commercial refrigeration equipment and systems to include walk-in coolers, freezers, small self-contained equipment, reach-ins, etc.Inspect systems and their components (e.g. air conditioning, heating and refrigeration units, etc.) to ensure safety and identify necessary repairs and provide an ongoing program of preventive maintenanceDiagnose problems and, or failures in heating/air conditioning/refrigeration systems to identify equipment and, or systems repair and replacement needsPerform routine and preventive maintenance as needed and, or assigned for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing functioning of HVAC and refrigeration systemsClean air conditioning units (e.g. coils, condensation pans, drain lines, etc.) to ensure units are operating correctlyPrepare documentation (e.g. records of refrigerants, paperwork, logs, time and materials, specifications, etc.) providing written support in compliance with regulations and, or conveying informationRepair various items, systems, and, or components to ensure those items are available and in safe working conditionRespond to emergency situations during, or after hours for the purposes of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or major refrigeration issues.Process service calls, work-orders, maintenance calls, etc. using provided mobile technology and MS Office applicationsSafely operate company vehicle, maintain its appearance inside and out, have it serviced for scheduled maintenance, or repairs, and maintain and update an orderly parts inventoryRequirements while on the job: Be prompt and dependable with good punctualityMaintain a positive attitude toward customers and the job itselfMaintain a good working relationship with fellow employeesCoordinate with administration and other trades for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently, while providing proper information for parts orderingMaintain tools and, or equipment to ensure the safe working order of the equipmentPerform basic math including calculations using fractions, percentages, and, or ratiosSatisfactorily perform the functions of the job, which include: indoor air monitoring equipment, standards for design and construction, air condition and heating codes, and hazards and safety precautionsRequired SkillsEPA Universal CertificationAdvanced understanding of EMS (CPC, COMTROL, NOVAR, DANFOSS) to perform maintenance and repairsAdvanced knowledge of the principles of supermarket psychometrics and its effect on refrigerated fixturesAdvanced understanding of refrigerant flow within system and advanced isolation techniques on all systems to perform maintenance and repairs ( This should include all equipment including receivers, condensers, and oil systems)Advanced understanding of electricity, wiring, and control circuits (all equipment) to perform maintenance and repairsAdvanced knowledge of the principles of supermarket psychrometrics and its effect on refrigerated fixtures to properly troubleshoot ongoing issuesAdvanced troubleshooting ability and mechanical skillsOther Work Demands**Must be available to run night time, weekend, and holiday emergency service calls**Ability to lift up to 40lbs and climb on rooftopsListen and comprehend written and oral instructionsGood communications skills and good driving recordCustomer service skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external customersEfficiently read, understand, and apply: blueprints, schematics, and flow charts during repair processesAbility to follow safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals
