Manager, Clinical Supplies Logistics (Finance)
SUMMARY:
The Manager of Clinical Supplies Logistics will be responsible for the oversight and management of transportation logistics for the Clinical supply chain function. This individual should possess strong knowledge of domestic and international import/export legislation and should be able to effectively troubleshoot any issues that may arise in international freight transportation. This role also requires the ability to build relationships with individual team members to ensure proper handling of freight in transportation.
Position Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and maintain a library of country requirements related to logistics (e.g. providers, importer of record, pricing, shipping solutions, and etc.).
• Manage technical details relating to international transportation such as customs regulations and any necessary documentation.
• Efficiently evaluate the costs of transportation, services and inventory within any budget or distribution strategy. Make recommendation for cost and efficiency improvements.
• Maintain supporting documents for inventory movements and shipments.
• Audit Customs documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Documents and manages shipping lanes for clinical supply shipments.
• Perform shipping studies.
• Maintain and manage company's Importer of Record Documents (IOR).
• Maintain and manage all company's shipping logs.
• Assist in the administration the Transportation Management System (TMS) for Clinical Supplies.
• Manages Transportation carriers and brokers.
• Review invoices for payment and rectify accounts payable discrepancies.
• Manage Clinical Supplies Carrier performance and manage metrics for management reporting.
• Apply for Import or Export licenses or permits as needed.
• Keep abreast of regulatory changes for shipping, importing and exporting regulations.
• Collaborate effectively with cross functional teams.
• Document and maintain organized records to any changes to operating procedures, prioritizations or any problems and communicate these changes to the relevant stakeholders.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• This person may manage Logistics Specialists, contractors, and temporary employees as needed to run the logistics program successfully.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Education:
• AA degree in related discipline and nine years of transportation logistics experience; or,
• BS/BA degree in related discipline and seven years of transportation logistics experience; or,
• MS/MA degree in supply chain and five years of transportation logistics experience.
• May require certification in assigned area.
Experience:
• Typically requires a minimum of eleven years of related experience and/or combination of experience and education/training.
• Experience with Global Import and Export Regulations.
• Knowledge of Documentation Requirements for shipments.
• Possess a strong understanding of GxP in relation to transportation.
• Experienced with clinical supply chain logistics is a requirement.
• Knowledge in Managing Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Strong Microsoft Office Skills; specifically in Spreadsheets Outlook and Project.
• SAP Materials Management experience is a plus.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Detail oriented with emphasis on accuracy and completeness.
• Ability to organizes and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints with no supervision.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a matrixed organization.
• Ability to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.
• Proven capability to use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
• Has complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
• Applies strong analytical and business communication skills.
