MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (Maintenance)

Blue Seal/KENT® Nutrition Group, a member of the KENT Corporation family of companies, has a fantastic opportunity to join their team as a Maintenance Technician at the Arcade, NY plant! This position will be directly responsible for maintaining and servicing all plant equipment and buildings. This is an hourly position that offers an exceptional benefits package. This is a 1st shift opportunity with a schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Report any factors that may influence the quality and safety of the finished feed and ingredients to the immediate supervisor
  • Can install circuit breakers, starters, panels, run conduit and make hook-ups with little or no supervision
  • Reporting Responsibilities - Reports to the Maintenance Manager
  • Know and be able to repair all mill equipment with little or no supervision
  • Can trouble shoot all electrical equipment in plant and repair same, up to and including 480 volts
  • Thorough knowledge of all electrical supply circuits
  • Have good welding skills and good proficiency with an oxygen acetylene torch
  • Do both installation and repair of normal pipe run
  • Able to read and work with blueprints, drawings sketches and schematics
  • Have a complete and thorough knowledge of all mill flows, processes, and equipment, all electrical systems, all parts inventories and sources
  • Be able to train less experienced electricians
  • Fill on call positions as assigned, during non-regular business hours
  • Follow all KNG Guidelines and requirements of plant and company policies, all regulatory and certifying agencies
  • Attend seminars and correspondence courses whenever possible to improve skill levels
  • Be physically able to perform all tasks required, but no limited to climbing, lifting and carrying weights of 55 lbs or more
  • Observe safe practices at all times
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements
  • Good communication skills
  • Understanding of feed manufacturing and willingness to learn and grow
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Understanding of feed mill equipment and layout
  • Thorough understanding of cGMP's
  • Knowledge of HACCP Feed & Food Safety Plan
  • Knowledge of FSMA
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 55 lbs from floor to working height as job requires
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures

STARTING WAGE: 

  • $21.00 - $22.00 an hour
