CAD Admin I (Architecture)



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Development of Product Data Management (PDM) systems such as CAD drawings, BOM's etc., and Manage Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems which control data from engineering documentation, manufacturing data, CraneCare, etc.
  • Training and mentoring of the engineering design group, as well as the engineering contractors /out-sources relating to CAD tools and practices.
  • Participate in Global PMO Team and coordinate CAD related activities as required.
  • Assists with scheduling and coordinating projects related to the CAD / PLM Group which includes assisting IT in testing of new software and upgrades; establishing and authorizing CAD hardware and software service contracts; providing CAD file translation and collaboration as required and manage and oversee the scanning of legacy drawings not yet electronically stored.
  • Manage and coordinate the development of global common CAD / PLM Group Administrative Procedures and Practices.
  • Coordination of the work being performed by engineering contractors /out-sources related to development of PLM systems including administration of budget and contract negotiations.
  • Development of Global CAD Engineering Design Standards / Guideline Manual
  • The execution of final release drawings and capacity charts per ISO 9001 requirements; Maintain CAD system availability at 100% and assist IT Help Desk in providing on call support 24 hours a day.
  • Assists with managerial/supervisory/clerical responsibilities for all external CoE contacts and contractors and responsible for all data exchange between MCG Business partners and Customers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Associate Degree in Engineering with one (1) to three (3) years' experience in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline, in lieu of education must have four plus (4+) years' experience in CAD Admin or similar role.
  • Standard CAD Tools and PC skills.  In-depth working knowledge of the subject matter being supervised as it applies to CAD Systems required for the development of cranes and the lifting industry.  Must demonstrate basic EVA and business understanding.  Must have basic knowledge of budget and planning skills.
  • Normal office environment with some shop and job site exposure. 
  • Must practice safe working habits. 
  • Frequent overnight travel, foreign and domestic:  25%
  • Must be an effective team builder with multi-cultural capabilities with excellent communication skills. 
  • Must be comfortable and proficient in delegation of authority and tasks to achieve goals through others without micromanagement, up or down. 
  • Must demonstrate basic people leadership skills.  Must be comfortable with initiating and implementing change.
