This includes core monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, as well as providing subject matter expertise on inforce and new reinsurance arrangements. We are seeking a finance-savvy professional with a strong understanding of ledger systems, particularly Oracle, and how reinsurance activity flows through to financial statements. The ideal candidate will bring a detail-oriented mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across actuarial, finance, and technology teams to ensure accurate and efficient reporting.

The current employee work arrangement for this position is hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

What you can expect:

  • Execute and oversee reinsurance administration and financial reporting processes.
  • Analyze and reconcile reinsurance-related general ledger accounts, with a focus on understanding their impact on financial statement lines.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Valuation teams to ensure accurate and timely close processes.
  • Provide oversight and support for outsourced reinsurance administration activities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on reinsurance accounting and reporting for both inforce and new transactions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support internal and external audit requests related to reinsurance financials.
  • Enhance documentation and controls in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirement.

What you'll need:

  • 3+ years of experience in insurance or financial services, preferably in a finance, accounting, actuarial, or risk management function.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger systems, particularly Oracle Financials.
  • Familiarity with how reinsurance and insurance transactions impact income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Experience with financial close processes and account reconciliations.
  • Intermediate Excel skills required, including use of formulas, PivotTables, and data analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to learn independently and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to work overtime during peak reporting periods.

It'd be a plus if you had:

  • Experience with reinsurance accounting or administration.
  • Exposure to or familiarity with SQL is expected; the ability to create, update, and interpret SQL queries is a strong plus.
  • Exposure to financial reporting tools or data visualization (e.g., Power BI).
  • Familiarity with accounting principles.
