RN - Inpatient - Medical/ Surgical and Short Stay - 90%FTE, Day/Night - University Hospital (1269) (Healthcare)
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our REMARKABLE team: - 27-bed unit with a diverse medical/surgical patient population which provides nurses with the ability to utilize their expertise in assessment and intervention. - Patients may be admitted with an expected short stay post operatively, for a medical condition or until they transition to a specific nursing unit. - Patients are received from multiple services such as Emergency Department, Operative Services, interhospital transfers and direct admissions from clinics, or patient homes. In addition to scheduled admissions awaiting bed availability and specialized outpatient procedures requiring a prolonged stay. - All staff work together to ensure patient's needs are being met in a timely and effective manner with high patient satisfaction results. Education: Minimum - Graduate of a baccalaureate, associate or diploma nursing school. Preferred - Baccalaureate degree in nursing. Work Experience: Minimum - One (1) year of relevant clinical experience. Preferred - Two (2) years of recent experience in acute care in medical/surgical nursing. Licenses and Certifications: Minimum - Registration as a professional nurse in the State of Wisconsin, CPR certification. Preferred - ACLS certification. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: - Knowledge regarding quality improvement and standards of care within the practice area. - Excellent communication skills. - Excellent organization and prioritization skills. - Ability to effectively delegate and supervise the work of other nursing team members. Physical Requirements: Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Work Schedule: This is a Day/Night position. Weekend and holiday rotation required. Hours may vary based on operational needs of department.
