Essential Functions • Lead and participate in day-to-day information security operations, including monitoring, analysis, detection and escalation of security risks and threats to internal systems and business
• Oversee vendor(s) who provide Managed Security Services
• Ensure security monitoring and incident response systems (SIEM) are maintained in a state of readiness
• Lead and monitor endpoint protection (AV/Malware, firewall, Intrusion Detection etc.)
• Lead vulnerability scanning and reporting
• Coordinate information security incident response team, as well as serve as the internal point-of-contact for information security operational requests
• Provide overall direction during execution of the incident response process, providing advanced analysis and direction, facilitating appropriate escalations and serving as the conduit for event communications to management
• Direct completion of post mortem analysis, document findings and provide recommendations to proper security and infrastructure teams for appropriate corrective actions.
• Provide coordination of security operational tasks from request to execution (including providing hands on support for external vendor)
• Champions and provides support and execution of continuous improvement within SOC, identifying automation opportunities and tools that could improve the ability of the team to detect and react to events.
• Develop and implement intelligence reporting program policies, procedures, and performance metrics to include alerting assets, travelers, security assessments, country risk ratings, and other product
• Direct the development and revision of SOC procedures
• Conduct proactive cyber threat and compromise research and analysis
• Lead Information Security Awareness campaigns including Townhalls, monthly informational and CBT based training programs.
• Provide measurable operational metrics to include security environment monitoring, incident response, tracking and reporting, and other service areas.
• Perform IT Security Reviews in support of the IT Project Process, and Cybersecurity Security by design.
Specific Knowledge & Tools:
• Ability to multi-task, effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a high-pressure environment
• CISSP (or CISM) required, ITIL, GCIH /GIAC certifications recommended (Preferred)
• Full understanding of Security Kill Chain (Preferred)
• Knowledge of Best Practice: VM Ware, Network, Linux, Network, Firewall, VPN, Azure, AWS (Preferred)
• Tools - Wireshark, Alert Logic, Nessus, Fortinet, Symantec, Citrix Mobility, SecureAuth, Intune, Wombat, Password Vault. (Preferred)
• Regulatory standards/frameworks such as SOX, NIST, GDPR, etc THIS POSITION CAN BE BASED IN EITHER OUR WOODLANDS OR KATY OFFICES.
Education & Experience Requirements Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Math or educational equivalent. 12 years IT related experience including 8 years supervisory or management experience. Expert interpersonal and leadership skills. Excellent understanding of current applications and trends in IT. Excellent knowledge of all phases of IT including network administration, computer support, help desk, software development or specialization in one area. Experience managing other managers. Position Summary Overall management of and planning responsibility for multiple or all of the following disciplines: Service Desk, Network Services, Systems Administration, ERP Applications, Non-ERP applications, Infrastructure or other IT disciplines. Provides effective and efficient computer systems/applications/services/support to enable the department to meet its business plan. Coaches and directs staff and manages operational activities to ensure compliance with departmental objectives and budget. Works directly with senior management to determine the goals of IT within broad outlines provided by the executive management and provide technical leadership and project coordination. Manages IT senior staff and other managers. May manage/support one or more areas of specialization in a division. May have global or multi-site responsibilities.
