District Manager (Project Management)
Manage store operations and sales performance to meet or exceed budget and production goals while in compliance with company standards, policies & procedures of the assigned home store.
Assist VP of Retail in developing a workable budget.
Approve and submit store payroll, in time and attendance system, in a timely manner.
Maintain a culture of safety, ethics and quality within all levels of the retail and donation store operations.
Engage employees through leadership and modeling of expected work ethic.
Hold teams accountable to high customer service and cleanliness standards at all times. Take immediate action to correct deficiencies and communicate with sense of urgency and pride in maintaining high standards.
Achieve or exceed budgeted revenue, net income, employee relations and all other goals and assigned metrics.
Provide detailed variance analysis for any under-performance with structured improvement plans.
Follow through with people and process adjustments, setting a continuous improvement expectation for team members and managers.
Ensure standardized merchandising, sales and production procedures are followed.
Communicate Goodwill's initiatives, programs, benefits, goals and expectations to team.
Work closely and collaboratively with Transportation department to maximize store operations efficiency.
Develop and maintain skills of all team members through continuous OJT.
Staffing - Aware of stores' staffing issues.
Develop and deploy effective staffing models and scheduling procedures to achieve the most effective and efficient retail sales operations. Interview to fill open positions.
Development - Work with Human Resources on scheduling training courses.
Build retail store success by properly selecting, training, mentoring and developing team members.
Manage turnover by encouraging upward movement, developing team members and promoting a positive environment.
Customer & Community - Collaborates with customers to understand and deliver customer's needs & expectations.
Communicate Goodwill's Mission and Focus.
Resolve customer complaints or inquiries appropriately.
Inform guests of the best deals of the day, color of the week, 50% off sale, senior day, etc.
Point of Sale - Implements strategies to maximize profit by processing transactions.
Provide great customer service.
Ensure all merchandise is accurately priced and sold.
Take appropriate measures to safeguard funds and merchandise.
Participate fully with current promotions such as sales and round-up.
Sales floor - Merchandize and stock the salesfloor.
Provide great customer service.
Merchandize the salesfloor.
Stock the salesfloor with merchandise from the backroom.
Place and remove signage as needed.
Team Goodwill - Promotes a culture that embraces growth & development to meet the needs of our team.

Safety and Security Compliance
Comply with all health, safety and fire standards and all local, state and federal regulations.
Establish a culture of safety, ethics and quality within all levels of the retail and donation stores operations.
Follow all policies, procedures, and directives of Goodwill Industries assuring safety of personnel or property.
Dispose of trash and damaged merchandise properly.
Always maintain a clean and organized salesfloor and fitting room.
Safeguard company property, including donated goods. Report any incident of theft, fraud, waste, or unauthorized possession of company property.
Additional Information
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Vice President of Retail.
Requires punctual and regular attendance. Time away from work is approved and taken in accordance with established policies.
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):
High School diploma or equivalent; some college strongly preferred; bachelor's degree in management, operations or similar field a plus.
Minimum 3 years' experience supervising production and/or retail operations using standardized quality and productivity processes to achieve revenue, productivity, net income and other key performance goals for the organization.
Experience in non-profits and human services work environments a strong plus.
Must be able to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
Maintain a valid Mississippi driver's license.
Excellent customer service skills.
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills in Word, Excel and Outlook
Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals, including individuals with special needs.
Ability to communicate and understand instructions, both verbal and written, in English.
Ability to market Goodwill and explain the mission to the general public.
Ability to meet production goals.
Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 50lbs or up to 100lbs utilizing a team lift.
Ability to engage in prolonged standing and walking.
Ability to perform frequent bending, stooping and stretching.
Demonstrate professionalism, integrity and the Mission to employees and the public
Ability to coordinate Vocational Services.
Knowledge of men's, women's, and children's clothing as well as furniture and household items.
