Developing, enhancing and enforcing human resources policies and procedures which will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization
Developing and supporting the delivery of effective employee engagement initiatives to ensure strong alignment between employees and the Company
Building a strong and effective working relationship with the Company's legal and labor teams
Participating in the development of plans and programs as a business partner; particularly from the perspective of the impact on people
Providing advice and guidance on various employee and labor relations policies, practices, processes, and documentation; anticipating the implications of employee/labor relations related decisions and actions
Working closely with the Operations Management Team to develop a high performance culture necessary to achieve business objectives
Developing effective HR and business relationships through an understanding of their business, and provision of HR expertise to support the achievement of business objectives
Developing appropriate policies and programs for effective management of the people resources (employee relations, sexual harassment, employee issues)
Creating, implementing, and evaluating a Human Resources integration plan for mergers and acquisitions
Continually assessing the competitiveness of all HR programs and policies against comparable companies and industries
Managing an effective team by hiring results-oriented employees, communicating performance expectations, monitoring / evaluating performance, determining training needs, providing coaching, and dealing with disciplinary issues
Leading projects and multi-discipline, cross-organizational project teams by developing project plans, schedules, budgets, and resources requirements; managing contracts, schedules, budgets, and resources; managing external consultants; monitoring project progress; and reviewing quality of work
Ensuring effective planning and management of the Human Resources budget, approving expenditures within prescribed limits, developing recommendations to address unplanned financial pressures, and advocating for additional human/financial resources to meet increased/unplanned program responsibilities
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field; Master's degree preferred; SPHR certification preferred
10-12 years of HR leadership experience in a multi-location environment
Senior level experience in Human Resources and Operations Management
Experience leading initiatives for both part-time and full-time employees in a company with at least 2,500 employees; Experience working in a union environment
