Maintenance Technician 2 (Maintenance)

Dematic Corp. is hiring for a Junior Maintenance Technician located in the Corpus Christie, TX area. This position will function as one of our Junior Technician.
● Electromechanical skills, including PLC controls, servos and other discrete electrical control components.
● Five years maintenance experience with material handling equipment experience is preferred.
● Refrigeration Certification desired
The Junior Technicians' responsibilities are identified below:
1. Preventive and predictive maintenance.
2. Scheduled maintenance.
3. Corrective maintenance.
4. Scheduled repairs.
5. Performing emergency repairs.
6. Practicing safe work habits and abiding by safety rules in accordance with all laws.
7. Logging all service work performed, recording downtime during repair and accounting for equipment service requests.
8. Skills including a balance of Electronics, Electrical and Mechanical skills with an emphasis on Controls.
This position needs to have strong electrical & mechanical background and ability to troubleshoot problems. Need to be able to perform maintenance functions and make repairs in a professional and workman like manner. Need to learn system operations in quick fashion. Needs to be willing to follow procedures and read prints, schematics. Must have an excellent safety record. Must have AB PLC and RSLogix experience. Must have Rockwell software experience. Must be able to utilize CMMS.
Senior Technicians shall have the following minimum qualifications and responsibilities:
Electromechanical skills, troubleshooting skills with PLC controls, servos, and other discrete electrical control components. Five years maintenance experience with some conveyor equipment experience is preferred. Must have the ability to connect a maintenance PC to a PLC and step through and understand the PLC program to troubleshoot complex controls failures, and make minor code changes under the direction of Engineering.
Key responsibilities shall include but not be limited to:
1. Practice safe work habits and abide by the safety rules in accordance with the safety policies set forth by our client.
2. Provide electromechanical corrective repairs and preventative maintenance.
3. Log all service work performed, downtime during repair, and account for equipment service requests.
4. Work in cooperation as a team with the DC warehouse operators.
Job Family Responsibilities:
Guides on-site technical and operational support in the design, development, installation and maintenance of equipment and systems of a very complex nature. Guides very complex site surveys to develop base or installation design plans. Guides training customers to maintain and adjust very complex equipment. Develops and submits reports covering all job activity. Guides the maintenance of very complex tools, test equipment, calibration items, etc. May develop the planning and estimating of labor categories, rates, material dollar costs, transportation expenses and per diem rates to complete very complex proposals. Guides the review of very complex task plans, drawings, and installation schematics and provides continual guidance throughout task duration.
Key Responsibilities:
Performs advanced areas of work for the professional field. Applies advanced skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently. Displays a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems.
Education:
High School Diploma required; BS/BA in related discipline preferred. Certification may be required in some areas.
Knowledge and Experience:
Demonstrates and applies comprehensive knowledge of field of specialization to the successful completion of complex assignments. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Demonstrates significant knowledge of organizations business practices and issues faced and contributes to problem resolution of those issues. Typically 2 - 5 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.
