Job Title: Manager, Public Relations Reporting To: Senior Director, Public Relations - Call of Duty Department: Public Relations Location: Santa Monica, CA Your Mission
As a PR Manager for Call of Duty, you?ll join a close-knit team working together to spread the word about the #1 console video game franchise in the U.S. for nine of the last 10 consecutive years, and one of the biggest entertainment properties in the world! This position will lead launch and momentum PR programs, including enthusiast and mainstream media as well as community and celebrity activities. In this role, you will work closely with studio developers, collaborate with multiple teams across Activision and Call of Duty worldwide, and manage agency resources. The ideal candidate possesses strong project management skills, proven product or game launch history, solid attention to detail and time management skills, as well as great spirit of collaboration, and a love of creative, dynamic environments!
What you?ll do:
Lead the creation, execution and management of Call of Duty PR campaigns
Provide strategic input to launch, momentum and community relations
Engage in media outreach with enthusiast and mainstream press
Drive agency production of editorial placements and social media opportunities via celebrity and community programs
Help craft our narrative message, including talking points, messaging, press materials and Q&As
Lead press tours, trade show activations, and other opportunities to share our games
Strategize product demonstrations, livestreams and other influencer-related opportunities
Track coverage and create recap reports
Daily oversight of external partners, work on deadline and manage toward results
Actively engage as part of PR team with marketing, production and studio teams
Oversee product launch PR logistics, including product mailings and review programs
Manage program budgets, invoicing and reporting
Player Profile
BA/BS in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, English or Journalism preferred
Minimum of 4-6 years of related Public Relations focusing on video games, consumer brands/products or entertainment
Experience supporting mass, pop-culture products and/or entertainment brands
Personal experience launching AAA video games a plus
Personal knowledge and affinity for video games desired
Mobile experience/knowledge is a plus
Excellent verbal and written skills Gaming community experience and familiarity desired
Ability and interest in traveling for events
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Keynote, Adobe Reader and Cision
Proven ability to interact and communicate effectively with all departments
Detail-oriented, self-directed skills including ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, including adaptability to fluid and last-minute changes
