Purpose:
The Regional Sales Director is responsible for Growing all MTD Brands/Products, Parts and Service businesses within a Specific Defined Region. Managing a Team of MTD Sales and Service members within this region, this position will drive successful Market Penetration and Increase Distribution of MTD Products within the region, meeting Sales and Profit expectations defined on an annual basis.
Essential Duties:
•Implement the Market Sales Plan for the region in support of corporate initiatives of revenue growth and profitability and achievement of defined metrics on a quarterly basis to the Sr. Director of Sales IR.
•Work with the Sr. Director of Sales and Matrixed with Key Sales Managers in defining annual Sales Targets per Market and Segment.
•Develop, maintain and execute to these business plans for the Region and report progress, opportunities and/or concerns on a weekly basis.
•Assess the current state of the competitive situation and prioritize targets available.
•Manage the effort to ensure appropriate account penetration based on MPA data measures.
•Establish and communicate annual goals for revenue, market share and new location growth for each reporting position.
•Use appropriate market data to size markets appropriately to ensure ROI for the company as well as adequate compensation for the assigned reports.
•Educating and managing the Regional Sales Team on a daily basis.
•Establish contacts with key personnel within Key Market Dealers/Customers throughout the assigned Market.
•Optimize new business opportunities within existing customers.
•Address complaints and resolve problems as necessary.
•Implement best practices and efficiency (i.e. time management) models for Regional Sales Team.
•Create a sense of Team and Positive Morale for the entire Regional Sales Team.
•Ensure that field sales expenses correlate to annual budgeted ROI.
Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
•Excel/CRM Management Tools.
•High Communication Skills.
•Detail oriented.
Experience/Educational Requirements:
•10 + years of managing a team of outside business to business sales professionals
•4 year degree preferred, or combination of additional experience and education
•Demonstrated history of recruiting, developing and retaining successful sales teams
•Ability to analyze data, develop strategic plans, and improve financial results
•Ability to thrive in a Matrixed Reporting structure.
•Excellent communication skills and competitive drive
•Ability to travel overnight 50% of the time with peaks of 75% in-season.

•Work remotely with quarterly Market Reviews at corporate offices.
