We are looking for a Transporter to work 56 hours per two week pay period in our General Services department. This is a benefit eligible position. Position description
Transports patients, visitors and patient related items throughout the medical center in a safe and efficient manner. Responsible to complete patient transports and patient related item deliveries in a timely manner, maintain clean equipment, interact politely and professionally with patients, guests and medical center staff. Functions independently and as a team member, frequently with direction via mobile device and pager. Must understand the functions of and be able to properly operate a smart phone for daily job function. Will stand and/or walk 12-18 miles per 8 hour shift. Will frequently push/pull patients up to 200 pounds and occasionally up to or exceeding 350 pounds. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the safe operation of multiple types of motorized patient transport equipment which require exceptional fine motor skills. This job requires full use of both hands, repetitive wrist and elbow movement, repetitive foot motion and trunk rotate/twist/reach. Works varied hours which may include days, evenings, days/evenings, holidays, and weekends with rotating days off. Must take an active role in providing support to other Mayo Clinic staff during various types of direct patient transfers. Must demonstrate full knowledge of all medical isolation precautions and protocols.
Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Additional qualifications
Must be able to transport multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously. Previous customer service experience preferred. Previous hospital, clinical or patient care experience is preferred. Must be able to work independently and in a group setting. Requires exceptional verbal communication skills, telephone and human relation skills to interact with patients, guests and staff. Must communicate effectively in a professional and respectful manner during high-stress situations. Basic computer skills required- proficient in Microsoft Word, and Outlook. Must be able to adapt to unpredictable and stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and pleasant manner. Strong problem solving skills are necessary. Must be able to read, write and understand English. Must be able to demonstrate exceptional initiative and a proven ability to quickly respond to patient Transport requests

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $15.35 per hour.

Would be scheduled to work every other weekend. .
You would also be scheduled to work 3 out of every 6 Mayo Clinic observed Holidays.
These are New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
