Position Title: Supplier Quality Assurance Technologist (Auditor) – Packaging
Reports To: North American Food Commercial Director
Location: Chicago, IL - FGI
PURPOSE OF ROLE
The Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) team is accountable to partner with the Mars Food manufacturing facilities, Quality & Food Safety, Strategic Sourcing teams and our global network of material suppliers to ensure all materials used in the production of Mars Food products deliver against the quality standards of Mars Inc.
This position will be focused on our packaging material supply chain and the implementation of the PQM standard across the North American and global supply chain. There are 4 primary purposes of the position: assessment and improvement of a supplier's capability to meet specification and Packaging Risk Assessment (PRA), ensure the resolution of non-conforming material issues, the technical development of the packaging supplier base, and partner with internal stakeholders to solve packaging quality related challenges as they arise. Additionally, this position will be partnering with members of the regional and global SQA community to develop, refine, and implement the Mars raw material, packaging, and premia sourcing standards.
