This position has the responsibility and authority to: support the deployment, maintenance, evaluation, and improvement of systems that regulate and assure the production of safe quality products; deploy, maintain, monitor, evaluate and improve the product quality control activities performed by FSQR and other operational individuals; coordinate work with other FSQR support personnel; and supervise the work of FSQR technicians.
This position is responsible for assuring implementation of company programs. This position is responsible for leading FSQR 1st shift hourly team members to ensure all product is wholesome and meets all product specifications while ensuring the safest working environment possible. The person in this position is responsible for managing and owning various functions of the business and creating an engaged and team-oriented workforce in order to improve business results. Ensure all food safety and regularory programs are implemented properly; this includes HACCP, SSOP, Food Safety, BRC (3rd Party Auditing Body), claims investigation and Quality programs. Assist in the development and control of quality/food safety related SOP's in regard to facility processes and ensure enforcement for all plant employees and visitors. This position works closely with all levels of management and the USDA, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. This position shall have the responsibility to report problems with the food safety management system to identified person(s). This position has the responsibility and authority to initiate and record actions.
50% Food Safety, Quality, and Regulatory Systems Management: Verification and/or maintenance of HACCP, SSOP, and prerequisite programs, raw materials, manufacturing processes, plant environment, and finished product. Collaborate with operations on the initiation of corrective action and preventative measures when necessary. Ensure adherence to corporate, regulatory, and location food safety and quality requirements. Customer food safety and quality requirements. Participation and preparation for plant tours and audits.

•Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent GED •Minimum 1 year proven supervisory experience or 1 + years of proven experience leading indirect or directly a group of people •Must have effective interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written •Must have demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills •Must be able to work flexible hours, including some weekend work as assigned •Computer knowledge and skills: including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) •Effective communication (verbal, written, presentation) skills at multiple levels of employee and customer organizations • Ability / willing to work on cold environment • Ability /willing to climb stairs • Ability / willing to lift between 10 to 40 lbs.
•Bachelor's degree in a related science field (Animal Science, Food Science, Biological Sciences) or other applicable field •At least 1 year manufacturing work experience •Experience maintaining quality standards, GMP, HACCP, Food Safety handling practices, etc. •Manufacturing in Food/Meat industry experience •Training/Coaching experience •Demonstrated skills of team building, conflict resolution, innovation and change within the workforce •Bilingual Skills : English - Spanish •Process/continuous improvement, Lean, Kaizen, etc.
