AM Restaurant Supervisor (Food Services)



Job Description Summary

Supervise the service and food presentation to ensure a high level of quality and consistency.

Job Description

  • Assist with supervising, guiding, and training the F&B staff. Monitor performance and recommend corrective action. Alert management of potentially serious issues.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to inform staff of daily events.
  • Ensure that employees comply with tip-reporting requirements, uniform and service guidelines, and other policies and procedures.
  • Respond in a prompt and professional manner to guest requests and complaints. Make appropriate service recovery gestures according to established guidelines in order to ensure total guest satisfaction.
  • Oversee cash handling and check/credit policies and procedures.
  • Inspect restaurant daily to ensure high quality food and food presentation and cleanliness.
  • Monitor area to ensure adequate supplies of food, beverage, trays, plates, utensils, napkins, condiments, etc. to serve all guests; replenish buffet items and areas as necessary.
  • Follow preparation methods, times, and quality and presentation standards. Monitor taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size, and garnish method as required.
  • Ensure side work duties are complete and tables are set before, during and after operating hours.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and well-organized work and buffet area, service areas, walls, floors and counters.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two or more years of food service experience in a full-service restaurant or similar setting.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing up and moving about the kitchen and restaurant.
  • Handling food, objects, products and utensils.
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling.
  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with customers and employees.
  • Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when completing paperwork, scheduling, and giving and receiving instructions.
  • Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, cash handling is utilized frequently.
  • Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities are used often.
  • Must have a valid Food Handlers Certification and a TABC card.
  • May be required to work weekends and/or holidays.
  • Must be available to work the morning shift, with a start time of 5 am.
