Production Planner / Scheduler (FQP&P) (Manufacturing)

We are seeking an experienced Production Planner / Scheduler for our Print & Packaging facility located in Anderson, SC. This position will be responsible for planning and preparing production schedules for manufacture of commercial products with the primary goal to optimize Customer Service targets and production line change-over strategies while maintaining appropriate inventory levels of both raw materials and finished goods.
Primary responsibilities include:
Follows necessary GMP regulations/guidelines.
Develops an optimal Production Schedule by balancing the following factors in collaboration with Customer Service and Production:
(Demand) - Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts and customer orders.
(Capacity) - Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
(Run Strategy) - Plans and schedules workflow for production operations department according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
Communicates plans with all relevant departments in the form of monthly, weekly, and daily production schedules and reports.
Works with production and engineering to optimize utilization of equipment and maximize overall efficiency.
Tracks forecast accuracy and adherence to production plans and makes adjustments as needed.
Determines, requisitions, and maintains the appropriate quantities considering costs, space requirements, and relevant timing of raw materials to procure to meet the above said production schedules.
Coordinates with QA, R&D, Sales, Purchasing, Shipping, Production, Maintenance, Process Engineering, and ownership for product changes and new product introductions.
Coordinates with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service to develop forecasts for planning purposes.
Creates and reviews with appropriate parties' 18-month capacity plan for finished goods, raw materials, staffing, and equipment requirements.
Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so.
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Production Management, or Industrial Engineering, preferred.
Two or more years in manufacturing planning with an emphasis in repetitive manufacturing.
Experience in dealing with Purchasing, Shipping, Receiving, and Operating Departments.
Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP/Planning Systems. SAP (MRP) experience is a plus.
Advanced communication skills.
Advanced problem solving skills.
Analytical abilities with solid business background and understanding.
