Senior QA Analyst (Finance)
The Quality Assurance family forms part of the Software Quality Assurance track within the IT function. It contains positions responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, executing and enhancing test plans to ensure solution compliance with system specifications
Business
The Senior QA Analyst (SQAA) is responsible for defining and implementing processes, methodologies and standards including but not limited to Test Strategy, Test Plans, and Defect Management that ensures software developed will meet quality standards. Incumbents will provide recommendations for tools and usage to meet the needs of the organization and train/mentor staff on best practices in developing user stories or test cases that verify application requirements. Incumbents may act as the user advocate within the organization ensuring the quality of software solutions follow established quality standards.
Technical
The Senior QA Analyst must be extremely familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. Incumbents should have an adequate understanding of system design to provide meaningful suggestions regarding interface improvements or potential performance enhancements. They are expected to review and provide comments on software requirements and specifications. They must provide qualitative and/or quantitative analysis of software defects or issues in written format and help drive for resolution of these reported defects/issues. In this capacity they must know how to plan, develop, and execute system and regression level testing scenarios.
You will anticipate potential software problems by creating exhaustive test scenarios that allow comprehensive testing. In addition to creating user stories or test cases and test scripts, they must be able to design, implement, and maintain complex testing environments, including localization and stress test platforms.
At this level, incumbents are expected to help create and maintain QA operating procedures and provide consulting and guidance to project teams on the proper use of the development methodology. They provide technical writing expertise and assist in development of user and/or technical documentation ensuring that the documentation and the design are in agreement.
Interpersonal
The Senior QA Analyst provides direction to other QA analysts and helps to coach and mentor members of the QA team. They also assist in the development of QA best practices and standards. As necessary, the SQAA will help with systems documentation as well as end user support, process and training groups. They assist in coordinating the testing activities of project test teams and function in a stewardship role establishing best practices and standards for all testing processes and procedures for the organization. Incumbents have direct customer interaction requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills.
