Summary: Directs and manages multiple accounts to achieve strategic performance objectives as well as short and long-term profit and total volume objectives. Provides accounts with guidance and motivation, ensures accounts operate within the approved budget, drives growth in the region, develops talent, and supports Key Performance Indicators. Establishes and maintains effective customer/client rapport.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages 2-8 subordinate mangers who supervise a team of 10 -100 associates. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of service to client accounts. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training management teams; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; coordinating safety standards; setting standards for food and service, management and development of client expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interprets and ensures compliance with policies, procedures and guidelines to promote their consistent application within the district.
  • Audits activities to ensure conformance with the Company, government and accrediting agency standards, regulations and food handling codes.
  • Ensures adherence to company sponsored retailing and purchasing programs.
  • Develops & monitors realistic and accurate district budget and forecasts.
  • Reviews and monitors district operations weekly and monthly to ensure accurate financial performance.
  • Ensures that the district financial performance meets Company and client forecasts; optimizes financial performance and operational productivity.
  • Conducts a minimum of one Internal Control Review at each assigned location each academic year.
  • Establishes and maintains effective client contact at the appropriate client level.
  • Identifies client's needs, communicates account progress and new Company programs to client.
  • Ensures that clients are aware of current applicable government regulations.
  • Documents business content of client meetings.
  • Conducts and/or monitors customer, client and associate satisfaction surveys.
  • Participates in the sales, negotiation and presentation process and approves new business.
  • Schedules and coordinates new installations.
  • Conducts client negotiations and/or renegotiates contracts.
  • Coordinates documentation of contract changes.
  • Ensures consistent and equitable administration of human resource policies, procedures and guidelines to facilitate effective employee relations and support the preferred employer focus.
  • Responsible for the coaching, counseling and progressive discipline of associates in the department.
  • Prepares and conducts performance appraisals and audits performance appraisals completed by subordinates and associate files.
  • Ensures a safe work environment.
  • Recruits and trains subordinate positions.
  • Identifies district training requirements.
  • Develops and coaches management associates to meet staffing needs and talent management program, as well as to ensure optimum utilization of district associates.
  • Coordinates union contract negotiations; stays current and abides by all parts of collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
  • Establishes and maintains effective community relations.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and openness to immediate changes.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree; 5 to 10 years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
