Paperwork
Theworker is required to remove paperwork from delivered materials/ packages andperform data entry of received product into the computer system.
Unloading/Receiving/Shipping
Theworker is required to receive product that comes into the plant at thereceiving docks. The product is removedfrom the trucks using a forklift unless it comes by UPS or FEDEX and then thecartons are put onto the floor by the drivers and must be picked up and placedon skids or tables by the worker(s). At plant 1, metal bars and cut stockis unloaded using a crane/hoist by the worker with assistance from the leadperson and truck driver. The worker is required to remove containers fromtrucks. Various containers arecardboard, wood boxes, pallets and Greenlee skids. Containers must be opened by the worker, andparts counted. Some product may have to be processed through receivinginspection prior to storage in the stockroom/stores area. On the shipping docks, the packaged productis usually wrapped in shrink-wrap. Theproduct may be weighed, a shipping ticket attached to the load, and then it maybe placed on the CDC truck by use of a forklift. Dock workers have toremove banding from containers. On rareoccasions, banding is installed on containers. The worker is required tocut up cardboard and bale it inside a baler.
Picking Orders
Theworker is required to pick orders from the storage areas. In most cases, the whole container is broughtto floor level to have parts pulled for orders. On rare occasions, theworker goes upon the lift to pull parts by hand. Parts are pulled by handfrom the Kardex vertical storage cabinets.
Weight Materials/LabelMaterials
Theworker is required to weigh and label specific products, in preparation forstoring and/or shipping.
Clean Up
Theworker is required to keep working area clean and free of debris.
Drive/Operate/Truck/Forklift
Theworker is required to drive order pickers, forklifts, and class C trucks. The stockroom uses Raymond order picker liftsto put away full containers of parts. One of the Raymond has the operatorstanding on the back at ground level and the other has the employee seated inthe front and the operator goes up with the product. Dock workers mustdrive the forklift outside to load empty skids onto the Castle truck, takeexcess skids outside for storage, bring in new wooden pallets from the palletcage, and load scrap pallets and cardboard bales into the recycletrailer.
Material Handling
Theworker is required to handle load/unload various materials to/from designatedstorage areas with various means, including manually lifting/carrying, usingcarts, using overhead lifts/cranes, using straps/harnesses, using pallet jacks,etc.
General Requirements
Theworker is required to inspect manual/automatic power lifting equipment fordefects at the beginning of their shift and report all problems forrepairs. The worker is required toattach power lift equipment to battery charger at the end of each shift. The worker is required to perform otherduties within the scope of the job assignment as directed by the Supervisor.
· Mustbe able to read, write and/or type, and perform basic math to accurately filland make record of customer orders.
· Mustbe able to interface with computer regarding orders, inventory, etc.
· Mustdemonstrate the ability to place and locate specific items accurately in allstorage and docking areas.
· Mustfollow established guidelines/procedures of receiving, unpacking, storing,picking, transporting, packing, and sending orders.
· Musthave basic mechanical skill to operate manual and automated equipment,including a forklift.
· Employeesmay be required to obtain a class “C” driver's license and drive the companytrucks, depending on production needs. Drivers have to maintain a current medical certificate.
· Employeesmust hold a Greenlee PIT license for the equipment they are assigned tooperate.
· Mustbe able to communicate with supervisor and other workers.
· Mustmeet production standards as assigned by the supervisor.
· Mustfollow all rules of safety as defined by the employer and required by allapplicable regulations.
