Description:
Provides highly visible customer support through the performance of on-site installation, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. Checks out and approves operational quality of system equipment. Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of the system. Serves as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. Interprets customers needs and clarifies if the responsibility for problem resolution falls to sales personnel, customer support reps, or engineers. To document and report on site activies for customer review and approval. Position will include any aspect of a field support role and is not limited to system hardware, software, PCs, Security and networking. The primary area of coverage would be the mid-western United States.
KNOWLEDGE
Experience troubleshooting and supporting one or more of the following technologies: Foxboro I/A or EVO, Triconex, Modicon, Wonderware or other DCS/PLC systems. Experience with process control, networking, secured systems, or PLC's would be an asset.Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Expertise in cyber security related to control systems is a plus.

JOB COMPLEXITY
Works on complex system issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Is expected to Network with key contacts outside own area of expertise. Will be expected to mentor junior Engineers when applicable.
SUPERVISION
As a field-based employee, will work alone with minimal or no supervision while on job sites.Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead). Provides regular updates to supervisor on project/account status. Goals are often communicated in broader "solution" terms.
EXPERIENCE
Bachelor Degree in Electrical, Chemical or Computer Science preferred. Typically requires a minimum of 5-10 years of related experience. Any, post-graduate coursework is a plus.
