• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum two (2) years quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
• General Auditor (Internal) - Two (2) audits (total ten (10) audit days) within the past three (3) years or 5 years of relevant audit experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Employee is required to execute the following:
• Occasional bending, reaching, pushing and pulling when retrieving and moving various items.
• Lifting intermittently of various items. Typically, assistance would be provided for weights exceeding 35 pounds.
• Good manual dexterity to operate computer equipment and precision measuring instruments.
• Oral communication via telephone or in person while interacting with customers, suppliers, or other employees.
• Position may require more than eight hours daily and more than five days weekly to complete work assignments.
• Sitting in chairs (swivel, padded, and adjustable).
• Squatting / crouching when retrieving stored items from lower shelves and file cabinets, making equipment / product inspections, etc.

• Visual inspection and review of products for compliance to specifications.
• Visual viewing of processing equipment, precision measuring instruments, prints, reports, manuals, procedures and an assortment of printed items.
• Visual requirements for this position are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Equipment Used:
• Common equipment utilized while on the job would be standard office equipment and hand-held measurement equipment.

The duties of this position are performed throughout the entire floor space of HLC. Duties are performed primarily in an office setting but are occasionally performed in manufacturing areas where compliance with applicable safety rules is required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts and exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is moderate. During periods of travel, duties could be performed in conference centers, restaurants, places of public accommodation, modes of travel, etc.

The Quality Engineer provides leadership and guidance to the organization acting as a change agent to implement process improvement across the organization in the achievement of an operational excellence environment. This is accomplished through application of knowledge in quality systems, driving adherence to disciplined systems and robust processes, and focused standardization of best practices; in conjunction with managing to a cohesive set of key performance metrics that provide an objective perspective on the business operating system health and effectiveness. The Quality Engineer also creates and maintains cross functional relationships needed to foster a proactive engagement culture amongst the business operations team and a productive working relationship with customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Purchase order and specification review leader focused on negotiation of customer requirements, advanced product quality planning and translation of requirements to operator level.
• Customer advocate (Voice of the customer).
• Process improvement leader focused on review, disposition and elimination of material review, concessions, corrective / preventive actions and escapes.
• Ensure customer verification is complete (i.e. FAIR) and submitted to the customer.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Job responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Assesses health of the business systems against customer and/or industry standards through an efficient and effective internal audit/corrective and preventative action management system.

• Experience and proficiency in understanding ISO 9000 and/or AS9100 along with knowledge in Statistical Tools and Techniques, APQP and Measurement System Analysis recommended.
• Experience in coordinating, developing and executing corrective / preventative /systemic action and process improvement activities.
• Can effectively work through major and minor issues without getting emotionally disconnected with the issue and what is needed to resolve the issue professionally.
• Least cost application of customer specs/drawings (no over-processing).
• Blueprint Reading/customer requirements flowdown.
• Customer interface and understanding/deployment of customer requirements.
• Demonstrated Internal auditing skills.
• Willingness to travel (both domestic and internationally) • Understanding of non-destructive validation methodology (Visual, x-ray, penetrant, etc.) and Nadcap understanding (if required).
• Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) understanding.
• Basic Computer Skills required; Advanced skills can be learned.
• Understanding of Regulatory requirements.
• Communication and Presentation Skills required (written, verbal and non-verbal).
• Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
