Manager, Information Technology Infrastructure Engineering (Finance)



Job Description

The Manager, Information Technology Infrastructure Engineering leads the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of Badger's IT infrastructure. This role exists to ensure the efficient and effective operation of IT services, focusing on automating infrastructure services and enabling self-service provisioning in public cloud solutions. By continuously improving IT processes and outcomes, this position supports the organization's goals. Collaboration across teams, such as Application Development, Infrastructure, and Cyber Security, is essential to drive cloud and platform adoption and process maturity.

What You Will Be Doing.

Strategy & Planning

  • Develops and executes a 1year business plan ensuring alignment with the overall corporate strategic plan and immediate manager's business plan.
  • Designs and architects scalable, resilient, and secure IT infrastructure solutions, including on-premises and cloud environments leveraging Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Evaluates existing infrastructure and proposes enhancements to meet evolving business needs.
  • Plans for capacity, scalability, and future technology needs, while defining, prioritizing, scheduling, and monitoring multiple technical projects.
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive project plans and schedules to ensure timely and efficient execution.
  • Infrastructure Operations & Maintenance
  • Ensures uptime, performance, and reliability of IT systems (servers, networks, storage, etc.), and oversees system administration, patch management, and software updates.
  • Deploys, maintains and monitors backup solutions to safeguard critical data. Create and test recovery plans to minimize downtime in case of system failures.
  • Understanding configurations for network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and other routing protocols and infrastructure equipment.

Security & Compliance
  • Ensures infrastructure security measures (firewalls, antivirus, monitoring) are in place, and conducts risk assessments and disaster recovery planning.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management
  • Oversees relationships with external vendors and managed service providers, negotiates contracts and SLAs, and keeps senior management and stakeholders informed about IT infrastructure updates.
  • Team Leadership & Development
  • Leads and mentors IT infrastructure teams by defining roles, responsibilities, and career development paths, while ensuring efficient collaboration between IT and other departments.
  • Incident & Problem Management
  • Oversees IT support and troubleshooting for infrastructure-related issues, establishes incident response procedures and root cause analysis processes, and ensures minimal downtime and quick resolution of IT outages.
  • Ensures adherence to Change Control policies and procedures by reviewing, documenting, and obtaining necessary approvals for all change requests, and coordinating their implementation to minimize operational disruption.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement
  • Enhances process efficiency through orchestration and automation, collaborates with security teams to build automation for infrastructure observability, and optimizes IT infrastructure for cost and performance efficiency.

What We Are Looking For.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years experience in managing distributed environments and operations
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Azure and AWS
  • 5+ years experience working in a multi-tier IT infrastructure including networks, routers, switches, firewalls, etc.
  • Effective communication, leadership, client management and relationship skills
  • Graduate degree in computer science or other technical subject preferred.
  • Extensive understanding of ServiceNow and ITIL processes
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Exceptional communication skills, specifically the ability to transform technical concepts and processes into clear, concise, "everyday" language for all audiences.
  • Proven understanding of PowerShell scripting to automate tasks and analyze data
  • Azure Certifications preferred
  • Network related certifications
