EHS Technician (Finance)
This successful and highly motivated candidate will support the EHS function within multiple sites at the corporate location. The EHS Technician will be responsible for maintaining, reporting and auditing the hazardous waste and medical waste programs and providing feedback on continuous improvement opportunities.
Position Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain Hazardous Waste and Medical waste Program
o Collect and consolidate site hazardous and medical waste
o Ensure labeling and storage compliance of all waste containers
o Conduct weekly inspections of Hazardous and Medical waste storage facilities
o Coordinate waste pick-ups and oversee program invoicing and manifest tracking
o Act as a specialist on hazardous waste streams and collaborate with vendor to maintain accurate waste profiles
• Act as primary emergency responder for spills
• Coordinate Chemical Inventory program
o Conduct initial chemical receiving and entry into tracking system
o Conduct quarterly audits of inventory
o Oversee SDS retention
• Facilitate preparation of annual Hazardous Materials Business Plan submittals
• Facilitate further development of site Emergency Action Plan and assist in periodic training exercises
• Conduct monthly inspection and maintenance of site safety equipment (i.e. Fire extinguishers, safety showers, first aid kits, etc.)
• Assist with EHS audits, inspections, hazard assessments, incident investigations, etc.
• Assist with management of EHS records (i.e. training classes, Committee minutes, SOPs, etc.)
• Be actively involved in EHS continuous improvement opportunities to support development, review and implementation of EHS policies, programs and procedures
• Ad hoc projects as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Education:
• Bachelor's degree preferred or commensurate years of skill and experience in similar role
Experience:
• Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in evaluating, reducing and communicating safety risks
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Knowledgeable in applicable local, state, federal and global safety regulations and standards
• HAZWOPR 40-hr certificate preferred
• Excellent communication skills, organizational, time-management and multitasking skills
