Controls Engineer (Engineering)



As a Controls Engineer at Norwood Medical, you will design, develop, and optimize control systems for advanced robotics and special machinery used in the production of precision medical devices. Your role involves programming PLCs, integrating automation technologies, troubleshooting electrical and software issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-performance, compliant, and efficient manufacturing processes. Youll play a key part in driving innovation, maintaining regulatory standards, and enhancing the reliability and scalability of automated systems in a highly regulated, high-precision environment.
Responsibilities include

Lead the design and development of control systems in collaboration with cross-functional teamsDevelop technical designs and integration processes with various components and systems to ensure seamless communication and coordination between sensors, controllers, and other devicesConfigures systems using PLC and HMI techniquesModels, tests, and measures output and data to analyze performance or quality issues and develop solutionsManage workload to the project timeline in order to meet customer needsConduct, manage and ensure seamless execution of controls and automation improvements and other tests to assess and resolve root causesPrepare and present project updates and report-outs to managementDocument controls and automation designs including corrective and preventative actions takenEnsure safety standards and regulation features are designed within the control systems to protect both equipment and personnel including LOTO ProceduresConduct research as needed to stay updated on latest automation technology and developments to apply the most effective solutions to manufacturing processesAssist with any special, technical training and/or project needsSubmit purchase requisitions for control systemsExecute developed standards for control and automation systems
