Head Start Teacher & Family Advocate (Personal Services)
Three Rivers Community Action, Inc. is a non-profit agency providing economic opportunities that strengthen individuals, families and communities in southeastern Minnesota.
This position is full-time (40 hours) per week and is based in Faribault with potential but rare travel to other Agency locations, to visit families of students, and for training and meeting. Starting pay for this position is $21.50 an hour depending on qualifications and experience.
This position will start August 2024 for the 2024-2025 school year and is subject to layoff between school years.

Job offers are contingent on a reference check and a criminal background check and fingerprinting through the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS).
Qualifications:
Bachelors or Associates Degree in Early Childhood or Child Development; in lieu of this, a Bachelors or Associates Degree in another field plus coursework equivalent to a major related to Early Childhood Education along with experience teaching preschool-aged childrenEarly Childhood License is preferredBilingual in English/Spanish, English/Somali or English/Arabic is preferredAble to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingCurrent, valid drivers license and reliable transportation with the ability to complete travel for home visits, meetings, trainings, etc.Able to work occasional evening hours for home visits and work-related eventsAble to lift and/or carry 20-50 pounds from floor to shoulder height frequently; reach above shoulder level; bend/stoop; squat; crawl; climb; kneel; balance; push/pull; sit on the floor; and move quickly in the event of an emergency
Qualification for Ongoing Employment:
Able to obtain Family Service Credential Certificate within 18 months of hire date (Agency will provide training during first year of employment)Able to obtain certification in infant/child CPR and First Aid within 3 months
