Senior Research Specialist (Finance)
The incumbent Senior Research Specialist will work in DBMI, in support of statistical work overseen by Dr. Landsittel and other personnel in Dr. Landsittel's lab. The Senior Research Specialist will work directly with both Dr. Landsittel, and Dr. Elizabelth Miller, who is the Director of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, and potentially with other faculty outside of the department and/or outside of the University of Pittsburgh, to formulate and implement appropriate methods for the management and analysis of complex research study data. In particular, the incumbent will focus on community-based research.
Other duties include assisting in manuscript and abstract preparation, complex statistical programming, collaborating independently with other clinical researchers, supporting evaluation projects for community-based research, conducting analysis of data quality for data collection at community sites, and programming to track enrollment and participation of study subjects.
The Senior Research Specialist must possess expert knowledge of research methodology, and statistics in particular, in order to work with a high level of autonomy.
Qualifications:
Candidate must have a Masters degree in biostatistics, statistics, or related field with additional knowledge of statistical packages (SAS, STATA and R). A combination of relevant experience and education may be substituted for a Masters degree. Experience collaborating on medical research projects, particularly in the area of statistical design and analysis, community and/or healthcare interventions, and evidence of past collaboration.
