What is a Global Forecasting Manager?
The Global Forecasting Manager is an active and visible role in the Ridge Tool Company. This individual is responsible for the company's detailed demand forecast to help meet customers' product availability needs, the long-term sales projections for strategic planning, and management of RIDGID distributor growth rebates. Primary objectives include: leading the global Ridge Tool forecasting process through best practices, including planning and scheduling global activities, software upgrades, user training, and problem solving. This individual is also responsible for helping to refine policies, procedures, and tools to improve forecasting, to incentivize sales growth with key channel partners, and to project related liabilities. This role is located in our World HQ in Elyria, Ohio USA.
What We're Looking For
The Manager, Global Forecasting will work in a dynamic environment within the Sales Planning Department and cross-functionally with the RIDGID Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and IT Departments. They will have strong understanding of business forecasting and planning best practices, analytical and reasoning skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Ownership of the global unit forecasting process, software and procedures. The objective is to ensure Ridge Tool's manufacturing operations have detailed demand projections to plan production to meet customer requirements.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to develop consensus forecasts.
• Present demand plans, forecast accuracy, changes and trends to management at S&OP meetings.
• Process owner of Ridge Tool's distributor sales growth incentive programs. Document program terms, monitor performance to target, develop reports, project rebate liabilities, and ensure program compliance.
• Monitor and identify economic and environmental impacts on demand. Use regression analysis and other tools to quantify impacts and predict future demand.
• Participate in all Sales and Operations Planning sessions and in a variety of cross-functional teams focused on planning and business process improvements.
Minimum Requirements
• The desire to prepare detailed forecasts to meet customer needs
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, systems thinking and reasoning skills
• Ability to work independently with little supervision
• A proven ability to maintain a high level of organization and service, manage multiple projects and timelines
• Strong presentation skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• BBA or BS in Business Administration, Finance, Data Analytics, Statistics or other related field.
• 5 years of relevant sales planning or forecasting experience (Demand Solutions, Demantra or other sales forecasting software preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, with excellent Excel skills
