Position Title:  Sr Sales Engineer  (P4)

Position Summary

The Senior Sales Engineer provides expertise in supporting the Enterprise Sales and a proven track record in selling and engineering managed SD-WAN, DDoS mitigation, and fiber solutions. This individual will play a critical role in driving revenue growth by providing technical expertise and support to our partner sales teams in the dynamic and competitive Midwest market. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Uses technical knowledge of product offerings to support and build sales through customer facing presentations, trade shows, partner trainings, and presentations to large audiences at partner bootcamps
  • Interfaces with customers to determine technical requirements and expectations
  • Works with appropriate internal organizations (Engineering, Product, Marketing, Provisioning and Operations) to develop and validate network designs in accordance with Crown Castle capabilities.
  • Designs viable data network solutions for customer applications with alternatives based on customer-specific technical and financial parameters (May include preparation of network topologies, network drawings, and technical specifications, and assisting Sales with pricing)
  • Assist channel managers with ICB development and review
  • Communicates customer feedback to Product Management for future product developments
  • Researches and presents reports showing potential customers the cost benefit of purchasing company products or services
  • Reviews and validates all service orders before being submitted for implementation.  Participates in service order kickoff meetings to ensure smooth service implementation.
  • Develop and deliver appropriate ad-hoc training for market, including new product and new technology
  • Help to ramp up other Sales Engineers
  • Performs other support duties, as assigned

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Experience/Minimum Requirements

  • Requires a professional demeanor with strong communications skills – verbal and written – and comfort in large presentations and public speaking
  • Proven success in technical sales with expertise in aaS solutions including managed SD-WAN, managed security including DDoS mitigation, and fiber connectivity solutions.
  • Proven ability to translate technical features into business benefits.
  • Strong technical presentation skills (development and delivery)
  • Experience with computer software programs such as Microsoft Office Products including Excel & Visio & Mapping software

 

Other Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in supporting partner sales channels is a plus.
  • Experience in telecommunications industry a plus.
  • Industry certifications with vendors such as AWS, Versa, CompTIA, etc. a plus

 

Organizational Relationship

Reports to: Manager Sales Engineering 

Title(s) of direct reports (if applicable):  N/A

Work Plans: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in the office on Monday through Thursday.  On Fridays, teammates on the hybrid schedule will have the option to work from the office or home.  There is an expectation of collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter that could require travel.
