Ad Product Lead (Finance)
Are you interested in shaping digital advertising to meet the needs of The Washington Post's advertising partners and online users? Does the advertising landscape spark your curiosity? Do you have experience with product management and product development with a bias for data-driven decisions?
The Washington Post is looking for a Product Manager for the Ad Research, Experimentation and Development (RED) team. The position will be based in our Washington, D.C., office and will support Washington Post advertising development efforts and advertiser-facing creative management platforms.
This candidate will have a history of bringing digital products to market, excellent multi-platform instincts, solid business acumen, clear written and verbal communications skills, and a history of hitting deadlines while delivering excellent products. Experience in the digital advertising space is preferred but not required.
This Person Will
• Perform product management and integration of commercial products throughout the business organization in conjunction with vendors and cross-departmental development teams
• Help groom the product roadmap, weighing both new product creation, product integration and existing product maintenance
• Collaborate with multiple teams throughout the design, development and launch of advertising products for use on multiple platforms and operating systems
• Perform data-backed analysis on new and existing products
• Support the client services team for product rollouts and custom executions
• Assist with all aspects of the product life cycle, including strategy, product requirements definition, design, user testing, launch plans and future enhancements
• Gather business needs, traffic analytics and feedback from sales, clients and users to identify new opportunities and areas for improvement
• Establish self as subject-matter expert on advertising products, best practices, competition and the latest industry trends
• Regularly track product performance, benchmarks and success metrics
Requirements
• Three years of program and/or product management experience
• Experience analyzing customer feedback, user research and performance data to guide product feature development
• Ability to communicate cross-functionally among multiple stakeholders, explaining complex systems or concepts in appropriate terminology for stakeholders
• Knowledge of the agile software development process and experience using JIRA and Confluence software
• Bachelor's degree required
