Supplier Quality Manager (Project Management)

The Suppler Quality Manager (SQM) will supervise assigned engineers and raw material inspection department(s) and lot clerks by providing technical assistance, performing testing, resolving vendor issues, developing personnel and ensuring proper order flow through department. They will work with FWM departments to ensure that internal expectations and customer expectations are met and develop business process to review, revise and develop specification for raw material, indirect material, and packaging specifications. The SQM will work with Supply Chain and procurement departments to develop a program to monitor all vendors that provides goods and services for FWMS product in compliance to the standards. 

 
 

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities required.
  • Minimum 5 years' leadership experience in a manufacturing environment including experience in, quality assurance, and supply chain management. Equivalent, non-quality experience will be considered.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work within the company policies and customer guidelines to manage the quality assurance aspects of raw material items and testing.
  • Responsible for the application of Customer and FWM quality requirements to the supply base.
  • Serve as a resource to supervisors, manufacturing engineers, operations, and the Inspection-Team for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Review and revise raw material, indirect material, and packaging specifications in accordance with customer expectations, FWM's needs, and industry standards.
  • Interact with Operations, Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Sales, Supply Chain, and Quality departments to facilitate projects and resolve issues from the supply base.
  • Conduct supplier audits of the raw materials suppliers to the applicable standard.
  • Oversee the process of Identifying and monitoring formal corrective actions for the suppliers resulting from non-compliance to the requirement or agreements.
  • Monitor the performance of the supplier and develop Scorecard for critical suppliers.
  • Act as a resource in resolving issues, related to supplier non-conformance.
  • Ensure compliance to International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Purchasing controls and customer quality requirements and standards.
  • Responsible for initiating, processed and verifying all requests to qualifying and approving new supplier and maintaining the company's approved supplier list. Maintain positive employee relations and climate. Lead in accordance with FWM's mission, values, and operating principles.
  • Flow down requirements around Quality, Regulatory and Corporate Social Responsibility.
  • Process to evaluate, develop suppliers and subcontractors, and customer suppler materials.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Fast-paced production environment.
  • Must be able to travel between various facilities.
  • Travel approximately 20% of the time.
  • Must be able to access all areas of operation, including second floors.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Some time is spent standing, walking, lifting, and bending.
  • Maneuver around, under, and about factory/laboratory equipment on a regular and continuous basis.
