Position description
The LPN-Family Birthplace provides basic nursing care to assigned patients under the direct supervision of the registered nurse. The LPN collects data through observation and communicates information to assist the RN in patient assessment and care planning. The LPN is expected to deliver care in accordance with the patient care plan and standards of care and assist with the care of family birth place patients including assisting with vaginal and cesarean births. The LPN accepts delegation from the RN in meeting learning/information needs of the patient/family.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing required. Currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Wisconsin. Certified in Neonatal Resuscitation Program. Has attended a Basic Fetal Monitoring course (prior to employment or by the end of orientation) to demonstrate competency in attaching a patient to an electronic fetal monitor. Basic Cardiac Life Support for healthcare providers- BCLS - certificate of course completion required and must not expire within 3 months after start date. A scanned copy of the certificate of completion or transcripts, including your full name, must be attached to your profile to be considered. We will only accept certificates of course completion from the following providers: American Heart Association (Title: BLS for Healthcare Providers); Red Cross (Title: CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers or BLS for Healthcare Providers); Military Training Network.
Additional qualifications
Ability to interpret written documents and communicate via verbal/written media is required. Dedicated to quality work. Able to effectively demonstrate understanding and proper use of various surgical instruments and possess manual and finger dexterity to utilize instruments and equipment.
License or certification
Current LPN license by applicable state requirements. Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $19.88 per hour.
