Warehouse Manager - Green Bay Distribution Center - Green Bay, WI (Project Management)
The Warehouse Manager oversees warehouse activities on all shifts to ensure all functions are performed following Company and Distribution guidelines. This position is also designated as a SQF (Safe Quality Food) Practioner, responsible for the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the local SQF System.
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Supervises warehousing activities to ensure that both incoming and outgoing product are handled properly using proper training, accuracy systems, and programs.
Manages supervisors on shipping and receiving, performs annual performance reviews and talent review process, and monitors supervisor schedules. Plans and assigns work for most efficient use of personnel and equipment, ensuring that production standards are being maintained.
Oversees corrective action process and grievance investigation. Maintains positive relationship with union stewards and promotes a culture of teamwork.
Coordinates with Inventory Control personnel to guarantee proper product rotation, slotting, and space allocation.
Develops and maintains good working relationship with retail division and store personnel. Works with customers, in person when necessary, to resolve complaints such as bad loads, damage, mispicks, out-of-stock, and delivery schedules.
Oversees the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the local SQF System. Ensures adequate resources are available to support the SQF System.
Works with Facility Maintenance Manager to ensure that equipment is properly maintained and that any repairs are handled quickly and economically.
Interfaces with warehouse management, transportation, human resources, and buyers to maintain efficiencies and service levels. Recommends and implements improvements in warehouse practices to promote efficiency, faster service, and lower costs.
Prepares and effectively administers department budget. Authorizes overtime and work to control costs. Evaluates capital expenditures and prepares requisitions and recommendations.
Coordinates safety committee meetings with Risk Manager and recommends additions or changes in safety procedures and policies. Promotes a culture of safety within the operation.
Extensive experience and formal training/education in warehouse operations, preferably with the Company or in the grocery industry.
Thorough knowledge of material handling equipment, traffic management to include truck and rail deliveries, and transportation. Working knowledge of government regulations pertaining to warehouse operations required.
Adequate training in SQF and HACCP to be able to understand and maintain the integrity of the SQF System.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to supervise the work of others. Ability to motivate and work with and through others to achieve desires results.
Basic computer skills required and personal computer experience, with word processing and spreadsheet applications preferred.
Analytical ability to handle administrative duties and mental alertness to ensure accurate, safe, and thorough completion of work activities. Ability to concentrate and deal with frequent interruptions.
