Maintenance IV - Houston (Creative Design)
Other duties may be assigned.
Repair, rebuild, and install a variety of centrifugal, gear, and diaphragm pumps.
Disassemble, assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine/equipment and/or electronic malfunctions or defects in physical structures or electrical control panels. Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following standard procedures.
Perform preventative maintenance and/or maintain equipment/machinery and physical structures. Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery. Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges. Repair or replace defective equipment/machine parts, or physical structures using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment
Diagnose mechanical and/or electrical problems and determine how best to correct them, checking blueprints, electrical schematics, repair manuals, internet resources, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
Design and fabricate machine guards and other similar devices as needed.
Actively contribute to continuous process improvement.
Participate in training and continuous learning opportunities; meet training and/or certification requirements of the job, department, product or area as designated/defined in work instructions and quality standards.
Abide by, enforce and participate in the implementation and ongoing oversight of all company safety standards and regulations.
Direct the servicing of equipment; May order material, equipment and supplies for the plant, or coordinate such activities with appropriate parties.
Maintain records of equipment operation and other operating records; Review log sheets and equipment operation charts; Certify work and maintain accurate records on equipment operations, work requests and completion, type and cost of maintenance or repair work, and other similar records. Review and certify mandated state/federal records and logbooks.
Recommend measures to improve equipment performance.
Investigate and initiate appropriate action for reported safety hazards and ensure that associates perform duties according to safety procedures and work instructions.
Communicate and coordinate with manager and relevant personnel for equipment/parts needs, work progress, status, and any unusual circumstances or issues.

Education/Experience:
10 + years' of trade-specific experience; or any combination of education, experience and training.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability:

This job performs Medium Work. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud due to the operation of industrial equipment and machinery.
Night and weekend shifts are common in several locations to maintain facility operations 24 hours each day. A rotating schedule of shifts may be implemented, so operators do not consistently work weekends. Nights and weekend work may also be necessary to prevent production down time.

The primary work location for this job is on the production floor which is not climate controlled, has operation industrial machinery and equipment and airborne particles (cotton dust). Work may also require associates to be exposed to machines operating at high speeds, or with exposed and rotating gears/parts.
The work environment characteristics described above necessitates the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The associate must wear the prescribed personal protective equipment at all times while performing the duties of this job. The associate is required to wear the appropriate PPE when in designated areas: Safety glasses, hearing protection, closed toe shoes and at times respirators.
