Position description
The Paramedic is responsible for delivering and administering high quality care and transportation to ill and injured persons. The Paramedic must demonstrate clinical competency and compassion in providing for the physical and emotional needs of patients. The Paramedic must have excellent judgment and be able to prioritize decisions and act quickly in the best interest of the patient, must be self disciplined, able to develop patient rapport, interview hostile patients, maintain safe distance, and recognize and utilize communication unique to diverse multicultural groups and ages within those groups. Must be able to function independently at optimum level in a non-structured environment that is constantly changing.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Must be proficient in English; must have the ability to read, write and speak English.
Additional qualifications
Experience as an Paramedic as well as an associate or baccalaureate degree in Paramedicine are preferred.
License or certification
Current certification as a Nationally Registered Paramedic as well as current Minnesota and/or Wisconsin Paramedic licensure/certification. Current American Hearth Association Health Care Provider CPR certification and ACLS. Current ITLS or PHTLS and PA

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $22.21 per hour.
