BMC Firmware Engineer (Information Technology)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position entails firmware development in conjunction with coordination with architects, vendors, and quality assurance teams to develop robust, innovative BMC firmware releases for customer reference boards. Responsibilities include specifying and developing reference design BMC solutions, troubleshooting existing designs, providing documentation for releases, as well as overseeing releases, both in content and schedule.
A successful candidate will employ solid software methodologies, manageability design expertise, debug capabilities, and strong process practices to ensure on-schedule, defect-free firmware deliveries with focus on continuous feature and code improvement.
REQUIREMENTS:
Previous BMC Firmware development mandatory (Dell iDRAC, Dell CMC, HPiLo, etc)
Experience with Linux gcc build and debug tools.
C/C++ programming experience mandatory (make, makefiles, GNU Autotools, gcc, Linux command line interface)
Linux driver development experience (JTAG, I2C, SPI)
Strong debug methodology and skills mandatory
Experience in server manageability architecture mandatory
Experience in x86 architecture mandatory
Knowledge of server hardware interfaces (SMBus/I2C, PCIe, 10G/1G Ethernet, SATA, SPI, I2C) expected.
Experience reading and understanding digital schematics desired
Experience with Git client source code repository operations (commit, cloning, branching, etc)
Intimate knowledge of software development process methodology expected
Knowledge of industry standard initiatives such as Redfish desirable and manageability protocols such as IPMI expected
Strong analytical skills and debug methodology expected.
Vendor management experience desired
Nice to have:
Fluent in Mandarin
EDUCATION:
BSEE, BSCS, or BSCE degree or higher
8 years or more of firmware development
3 years or more of manageability experience
