NP/PA - Inpatient/Outpatient Transplant Nephrology - University Hospital (4459) (Healthcare)
As an Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play an integral role in our inpatient and ambulatory care teams by providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients. We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to: - Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary including physicians, advance practice providers (APPs), physician trainees, and dialysis staff, who is responsible for providing inpatient and outpatient care to kidney transplant recipients, or other solid organ transplant recipients (heart, lung, liver, pancreas, small bowel) with acute kidney injury (AKI) or chronic kidney disease (CKD). - See patients in follow-up to further evaluate and manage kidney or transplant related problems. - Manage immunosuppression, renal replacement therapy (hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and continuous renal replacement therapy), care of sensitized patients undergoing desensitization for transplantation and treatment for rejection. - Interact with many disciplinary teams in the care of transplant patients including surgery teams, cardiology, pulmonary, and critical care. Education: If Nurse Practitioner: Master's or Doctorate's degree from accredited Nursing Program. If Physician Assistant: Bachelor's or Master's degree from accredited PA Program. Licenses and Certifications: If Nurse Practitioner: Active RN and APNP license in State of Wisconsin AND Active board certification as an NP in Adult; Adult/Gerontology Acute Care. If Physician Assistant: Active PA license in State of Wisconsin AND Active PA board certification All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have: Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire. CPR certification. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Professional demeanor. - Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team. - Ability to prioritize tasks. Physical Requirements: Light: Ability to lift up to 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may only be a negligible amount, a job is in this category when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree. W ork Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; 100% FTE.
