Retail Maintenance Associate - Part Time (Early Mornings, weekends required) (Sales)

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Maintenance Associate is responsible for maintaining and caring for all store facilities according to company standards. This role will provide all interior maintenance of store floors, windows, restrooms, office, and employee areas. Exterior maintenance may be required, based upon store lease specifications. Other duties may include merchandising (stocking shelves, maintaining product displays, and pricing) as well as serving customers (answering questions and helping customers find products). 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Identify and fix all maintenance and safety issues inside and outside of the store; Perform all maintenance obligations necessary to keep associates and customers safe 
• Ensure all OSJL customers receive the best possible service on the sales floor and at the point of sale 
• Assist with merchandising tasks as needed, including stocking, display arrangement, and ticketing
• Perform all duties in a manner to ensure Company assets remain protected 
• Communicate any issues to store management in a timely manner 
• Operate a cash register as needed 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

• Prior maintenance experience required 
• Experience working in a retail environment or in customer service preferred 
• Basic math and reading skills, legible handwriting, and good verbal and written communication skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

• Work primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. This position requires extended periods of moving, remaining stationary, ascending, descending, and/or positioning oneself to complete various tasks throughout the shift. 
• Responsible for physical activities including using hand tools, ascending or descending a ladder, moving, reaching, and lifting on a frequent basis: should be able to lift 35 lbs on a regular basis.
