This offers exciting and varied opportunities for collaborations across departments and universities. The Department of Ophthalmology is funded by a NIH P30 core grant and NIH T32 training grant. The University is currently ranked fifth in the nation in total NIH funding, and Pittsburgh is often noted as one of the most livable and affordable metropolitan areas.
