Human Resources (HR) Generalist (Human Resources)



SUMMARY
The Human Resources (HR) Generalistwill oversee and supervise the organization's payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. Runs/supports daily functions of the HR department in areas such as onboarding/offboarding, recruiting, and enforcing company policies and practices. A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Payroll Processing:

Manage end-to-end bi-weekly payroll processing.

Complete accurate collection, calculation, entry, and reconciliation of payroll data, including earnings, deductions, garnishments, and adjustments.

Maintain and update payroll processing system and records, including new hires, terminations, transfers, wage changes, and departmental allocations.

Process bonus checks in the spring and fall for seasonal and/or year-round employees.

Prepare and distribute weekly payroll reports to Accounting.

Oversee all federal and state tax filings, working closely with the HRIS third-party provider UKG to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Support and assist supervisors with timecard issues.

Lead payroll audits and oversee compliance with all federal, state, and local reporting obligations.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

Lead or contribute to special projects related to compensation, benefits, system implementations, or payroll process improvements.

HR/Record Maintenance:

Report quarterly - Idaho and Wyoming Workers Comp payroll reports.

Update Workers Comp rates and Unemployment Insurance rates in the HRIS.

Assist HR with new hire, rehire and separation paperwork during peak onboarding and offboarding periods.

Assist with the creation of job postings and recruitment efforts during peak recruitment periods.

Update, file, and distribute the Immediate Response Plan, Radio Call List, and other company-wide documents upon request.

Register/title new resort vehicles and renew registration of all resort vehicles yearly.

Order requested office supplies for departments and maintain adequate stock of forms and supplies.

Assist with distribution of uniforms.

Recruits and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants in collaboration with hiring managers for open positions. Works with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

Other Duties:

Check out and in employee resort metal keys.

Make Saflok card keys for employees and make new keys yearly for year-round staff.

Run DMV checks on all employees driving resort vehicles off the mountain.

Assist with processing background checks on all employees.

Maintain recordsof all Certificates of Liability Insurance (COI), ensuring concessionaire COIs are current.

Renew liquor licenses, food permits, pool & spa permits yearly.

Assist Guest Services during summer music festivals.

Other duties as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY:
Protect the safety of self-workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests.Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Resorts Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals.Operate equipment safely so that it will not lead to injury to yourself or others.Drive in accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
WORK SCHEDULE
Due to the nature of the recreation industry, we are in operation seven days a week. This includes weekends and holidays and there is no guarantee of hours. Flexible working hours may be required based on the business levels.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree and HR certification desired. Previous experience as a HR generalist and/or manager preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong computer skills in all Microsoft products, including Excel and Word.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to accurately read and make measurements.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Excellent verbal communication skills.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to outside weather conditions from time to time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
