Assistant Professor/Associate Professor (TT) - School of Public Health; Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences (HPBS) (Finance)
Position Key Accountabilities:
Responsibilities will include:
-Developing a balanced portfolio of research, teaching and service.
-Developing and implementing research related to population health,
community health and/or clinical health initiatives and work collaboratively
with UTHealth School of Public Health colleagues.
-Demonstrating practical / applied expertise in analytic methods appropriate to
enhancing research investigating psychosocial, behavioral, structural, and/or
environmental factors associated with health outcomes
-Ensuring empirical research involving the design, implementation, and
evaluation of health promotion interventions.
Qualifications:
(1) a doctorate with a focus in social/behavioral science or related disciplines (including psychology, psychiatry, sociology, political science, anthropology, social work, health services, organizational science, etc.); (2) evidence of collaborative research supporting advances in population health, community health, mental health, health promotion, disease prevention, cancer and chronic disease prevention and control, and/or health services research; 3) track record of established independent research funding including NIH-funded grants (e.g., K-series and/or R-series); (4) commitment to excellence in teaching and advising graduate students; and (5) excellence in written and oral communication skills. Multi-disciplinary training, with backgrounds that include computer sciences, statistics, engineering, and other equivalent disciplines/fields will also be considered.
