Job Summary:
Protects Bank property, valuables, and staff. Maintains security perimeter at building entrances performs routine building patrols to prevent unauthorized entry to premises, provides fire protection, and deters criminal and other irregular activities. Performs public relations functions by answering inquiries, and providing direction to employees and visitors. Performs multiple and varied administrative duties in addition to operating the Law Enforcement Control Center console and regularly coordinates and monitors the activity and work of others. Provides front line supervision to small work groups assigned to perform specific and specialized functions. Sergeant positions are Front line Team Leaders who are responsible for and have direct supervision of sworn Police Officers.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervises the day to day and daily operation of his/her respective shift.
Responds immediately and appropriately to emergency situations of all types and assumes the lead role in the absence of a superior at the scene.
Functions as back-up supervisor on any shift.
Exercises leadership by assigning, allocating, and monitoring work of Law Enforcement Officers.
Provides basic training to officers and staff.
Performs duties of Law Enforcement Officers as assigned.
Provides instructions to staff, writes reports, procedures, and proposals, and maintains records.
Operates C-Cure Security System and adheres to department procedures when responding to alarms received.
Issues and removes access from cardholder files, adds/deletes files, runs reports upon request, issues temporary ID cards, and start/stops patrols.
Operates x-ray equipment and other related equipment; screens portals and handheld magnetometers.
Locates and retrieves keys from the key files and makes computer entries in the Tracer Key System to add new or existing keys, develops reports, and edits mistakes.
Operates switcher to select monitors and cameras.
Sets times on video recording equipment; operates programmable components of multiplexers, and troubleshoots minor video equipment problems to isolate and/or compensate for problems.
Prepares, implements, and monitors shift schedules in addition to monitoring staffing levels.
Schedules time for self and others and prioritizes tasks and activities to ensure timely completion of daily and project tasks.
Provides assistance and recommendations to supervisor regarding performance evaluations and staff promotion.
Leads departmental and/or Bank-wide quality initiatives as a team leader or actively contributes ideas as a team member.
Knows location and demonstrates proper use of all emergency equipment; proficiently operates CPR and AED equipment.
Serves as first aid responder in emergency situations and is expected to perform emergency cardiac care and CPR consistent with the training received.
Fulfills job duties and responsibilities in conformance with sound safety practices.
Performs other related duties as assigned by Lieutenant or Captain.
