Senior Animal Technician (Finance)
The individual will:
This individual may also be required to perform job duties that involve cage wash area activities and/or facility operations support based on the current operating needs of the facility. These activities may include but are not limited to processing and washing soiled animal caging and supplies, preparing clean caging and equipment for distribution and use within the animal facility, and performing routine preventive maintenance procedures and minor repairs on mechanical cage washers, animal caging systems, and other equipment used to provide laboratory animal husbandry and care. All tasks are expected to be performed in accordance with applicable regulations, guidelines, and internally established policies and procedures.
The position requires successful enrollment in the University of Pittsburgh Animal Exposure Surveillance Program and other medical surveillance/immunization programs as dictated by the current research activities and when applicable. The successful candidate must be able to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions, maintain accurate and legible records and other forms of documentation, consistently demonstrate positive interpersonal and customer service skills, be available to work weekends and holidays, stand for extended periods of time, lift 50 pounds, and push/pull heavy equipment. TB test and PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required as a condition of employment.
