Allergy Antigen Specialist - 100% FTE - 20 S. Park St (1142) (Healthcare)
Join our high quality, patient- and family-centered care team as an Allergy Antigen Specialist in the UW Health Allergy Clinic. We are seeking an Allergy Antigen Specialist to: - Join our allergy, asthma and immunology specialists who provide definitive diagnostic and therapeutic consultation for conditions such as food and drug allergies, seasonal allergies, anaphylaxis, asthma, and recurrent respiratory tract infections. - Prepare extracts for allergy testing. - Prepare patient-specific immunotherapy antigens and mixing sheets, calculating appropriate antigen strength and diluent volume. - Maintain inventory and order supplies of stock antigens and extracts, diluents, vials, venom kits, mailers, labels and other supplies. - Work both independently and as a team with physicians and registered nurses. - Scan skin testing sheets, spirometry print outs, and other miscellaneous documents. Education: Minimum – Associate degree in Medical Laboratory (MT or MLT), Pharmacy Technician, Licensed Practical Nursing or Registered Nurse Work Experience: Preferred – Two (2) years of previous experience in a medical setting Licenses and Certifications: Minimum – CPR Certification Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: - Basic laboratory skills with emphasis on sterile techniques, accurate measurements, and mathematical computations - Proficient in Word and Excel Physical Requirements: Sedentary: Ability to lift up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one, which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met. W ork Schedule: 100% FTE, 40 hours per week. Scheduled shifts are Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
