Description
Ensure effective implementation of our Supplier Development Process on a global basis, including the organization, procedures, and systems required to improve supplier quality and lead time performance so they can win new business. Manage local engineering team. Work across highly-matrixed organization to influence global sites and suppliers.
Responsibilities
Execute Supplier Development Process to improve supplier performance so they can win new business
Provide regular report outs to functional management, including current status and action plans for improvement
Audit our internal supply chain and external supplier processes (business and manufacturing) to identify opportunities to improve performance with focus on reducing variation and eliminating waste
Ensure suppliers are trained in and management is committed to the use of Structured Problem Solving, Lean & Six Sigma concepts and tools
Lead cross-functional, cross-facility projects to improve supply chain performance
Ensure control plans are implemented to sustain performance improvements
Maintain quality management system documentation associated with our Supplier Development process
Ensure procedures, forms, work aids, and training plans are current and accessible worldwide
Serve as an expert resource in Supplier Development concepts and tools, including Lean and Six Sigma:
Combines extensive experience and knowledge of lean/six sigma tools to analyze a wide range of problems and formulate solutions
Identifies and recommends improvement programs that support Global Supply Chain goals
Apply lean expertise to create value stream maps of a process and train teams how to use the tool for improvement
Serves as an expert resource for six sigma and /or lean enterprise solutions
Provide consultation on leading edge lean / six sigma practices
Provide leadership for identifying training needs in the organization and with Suppliers
Define requirements for training classes and may coordinate or conduct lean / six sigma training
Act as a key lean / six sigma contact
Lead large scale supplier improvement projects focused on lean enterprise strategies
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business or engineering is required. Minimum of six (6) to eight (8) years of experience is required. Ideal candidate will have a background in lean / six sigma and experience with Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering Design, Manufacturing or Operations.
