MRI Assistant (Project Management)
Greets patients and escorts them from the waiting room and/or exam room to the MRI department
Prepares patients for study by dressing patient according to safety protocols
Completes screening process on all patients prior to study
Ensures laboratory results are received as indicated by study requirements
Ensures all studies scheduled have correct orders and insurance authorizations on file prior to patient arrival and transmits to third party radiology group
Utilize imaging software to transmit images to third party radiology group for purposes of study interpretation
Assist Clinical Manager in identifying staff training needs, as they arise
Administrative Services
Takes MRI stock inventory and completes ordering as directed by Clinical Manager
Monitors policy and procedure for MRI department for updates and regulations
Responsible for updating policies and procedures to reflect regulatory changes
Communicates with outside facilities and third party particpants to request and/or maintain accurate records for regulatory compliance
Maintains compliance with Infection Control guidelines
Complies with all OSHA mandates
Follow up on missing tickets for MRI department
Typical Physical Demands
Position requires full range of body motion as well as manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Involves standing and walking. Employee will occasionally be asked to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds. Normal visual acuity and hearing are required. Employee will work under stressful conditions, and may work irregular hours.
Typical Working Conditions
Work is performed in a medical office environment. Typical workdays are 8-12 hour shifts. Travel may be required to satelite workstations and personal transportation is required. Requires some Saturday shifts. Work involves frequent contact with staff, patients, and the public. Work may be stressful at times. Employee may have exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other conditions common to a clinical environment.
