Basic Function: This position is responsible for the design, development, delivery and train-the-trainer of enterprise-wide training and development programs/systems/processes/initiatives, with a focus on safety training deliverables, to ensure that employees have the requisite training to meet current and ongoing operational requirements. This position may require travel to our various sites in North America (approx. 25%) and reports to the Director, Learning & Development.
RESPONSIBLITIES:
Determines learning objectives and organizes content into a variety of training deliverables.
Works directly with the organization's subject matter experts to gain information needed to create comprehensive training programs.
Designs and develops training content and updating training documentation, eLearning content and job-aids based on adult learning principles and instructional design best practices.
Facilitates training to staff of all levels on-site or remotely via multiple delivery modes including web conference, e-learning, classroom and blended solutions as necessary using a variety of adult learning and instructional design techniques.
Continuously assesses and evaluates training and development content and programs to determine the effectiveness of learning impact to meet organizational requirements.
Provides constructive feedback to class participants in a professional & timely manner.
Monitors, evaluates, and maintains accurate employee training records via Learning Management System (LMS).
Plans and manages instructional design projects using internal and/or vendor resources.
Provides consultative advisory services to staff of all levels
Supports and conducts Train-the-Trainer sessions for other personnel across North America, both corporate and field, when appropriate
Bachelors' degree, with an emphasis in Adult Education, Instructional Design, Human Resources Management / Development, Business, or related field.
At least 5 years' instructional design experience including development and delivery of multi-modal training content within a Learning Management System environment in a corporate setting.
Facilitation experience delivering WebEx, VILT, online, and classroom instruction for classes of 15 students or more on various topics such as new hire orientation, business applications/systems, customer service, HR topics, management/professional skills & process improvement, etc.
Certification in Instructional Design/Development or related discipline.
Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design best practices
Must be able to develop and deliver practical, user-friendly materials, job aids, and eLearning content to reach a diverse and distributed workforce.
Expertise in managing cross-organizational projects with a focus on quality and a sense of urgency.
Demonstrated knowledge of adult education principles, practices, and processes.
Knowledge of organizational development, change management, and human resources management practices.
Exceptional customer service skills with demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
Ability to communicate with staff of all levels in a dynamic and adaptive manner.
Able to prepare and adapt content for multiple delivery methods including VILT, ILT, eLearning and paper-based self-study.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
Ability to use learning tools & technology to develop and deliver training, including Articulate Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia Studio, and other related authoring tools.
