SUMMARY: This position serves two core functions:
Quality control: correcting defects by copyediting, proofreading, content editing, maintaining domain products and service materials
Quality assurance: preventing defects through a focus on individual attention to detail and team processes; recommending and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and team proficiency
Additionally, this position may support the development of business documents, such as presentations, job aids, marketing collateral, papers, blogs, articles, reports, proposals, and business plans. This position may also collaborate in leading learning and development projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Proofread, copy edit, and content edit products including course components, facilitation materials, proposals, marketing content, and other business documents
Analyze feedback, conduct research, and implement necessary revisions in line with adult learning theory
Assist in writing component parts of learning and development programs to support application of appropriate adult learning modalities
Interact with instructional designer and project team throughout MC Core design and development process
Provide editorial feedback that clearly communicates proposed revisions and writing improvement
Update existing products
Maintain quality, accuracy, and currency of materials
Support the development of job aids and tools to support division and client needs
Provide input on best practices for quality processes
Manage multiple projects simultaneously
Contribute to the maintenance and application of internal standards and style
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
Edits materials while keeping specific audience, learning modality, etc. in mind (for example, changes voice and lexicon as appropriate).
Reviews the Content Management System (CMS) content for compliance with standards.
Evaluates quality and consistency of written materials and products.
Conducts basic research (for example, websites, articles, and other people).
Approaches problems logically (for example, breaks project into logical steps).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Master's degree in English, Communications, or related field preferred.
At least 3 years' experience in the field.
Familiarity with MS Office Suite (including MS Project); Adobe e-learning suite preferred, Xyleme/CMS preferred, Windows required.
Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style '17.
